Job Title:                 Alumni and Annual Giving Officer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

1.                    Maintains a pool of prospects for personal solicitation, including cultivation, solicitation, and ongoing stewardship.  Solicitations include acquisition of new donors, and renewal or upgrading of existing donors.

 

2.             Identifies, analyzes, and manages segments of the prospect pool to be solicited for Annual Fund gifts, this includes the implementation of direct mail, record tracking, recognition programs and reports.

                                               

3.             Assists with daily research and the implementation of surveys to collect alumni prospect information to enhance the Advancement Office database and reports.

                                               

4.             Organizes daily mailings and tracking reports for the alumni stewardship program.

 

5.             Works with the Director with the planning and implementation of a regular schedule of alumni events, including Alumni Day, alumni awards program, alumni chapters and regional receptions.  Represents Madonna University at events throughout the U.S. by hosting off-site receptions and chapter meetings.

 

6.             Performs daily tasks in support of Alumni Office goals and objectives, such as staffing events, supporting committee meetings, initiating and responding to phone, mail, and electronic inquiries as requested.

 

7.             Provides support for and participates in the creation of electronic and print communications as needed to engage and steward donors, including presentations, correspondence, publications, content for web pages and online networking groups.

 

8.             Works with Advancement team members as requested to support department projects and alleviate peak workloads.

 

9.             Works with staff to maintain stewardship initiatives such as the Future Alumni Network, campus clubs and mentoring.  Serves as a point of contact for special projects and volunteers.

 

10.           Must articulate the University’s mission, culture, academic programs, and fundraising objectives in solicitation efforts.
 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) with two years of fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of fundraising and directly related experience. Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience in gift solicitation and public speaking. Self motivation, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrated skill/experience with statistical reporting and analysis. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Occasional evening and weekend work required.
