POSITION  ANNOUNCEMENT 

Job Title:                 DNP Admissions Officer-Part Time
Department:            Nursing
Reports To:             Chair
Hours:                     Part Time Postion:  Eight (8) Hours/Week; 52 Weeks/Year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1.         Manages DNP recruiting efforts by leading recruiting, interviewing, applicant tracking, production of documents, maintaining of files, and correspondence with potential applicants.   

2.         Establishes a recruiting plan which targets specified groups as outlined in the DNP grant.  Establishes contacts and creates partnerships with professional organizations, hospitals, and universities with a potential pool of students.  Works closely with counterparts at the University of Detroit Mercy campus in coordinating recruiting activities between the two schools.  Facilitates focus groups with members of target groups in order to elicit feedback on their feelings and interest in DNP program in order to create relevant and effective recruiting materials. 

3.         Presents information on the DNP to potential applicants by attending recruitment events, holding information sessions, and making information available and easily accessible to potential applicants. 

4.         Communicates with prospective DNP students in collaboration with Graduate School staff. 

5.         Develops reports for tracking DNP recruitment efforts, admissions numbers, and retention data.  Works closely with the DNP Grant Coordinator to ensure that tracking efforts comply with Grant requirements. 

6.         Works directly with the marketing staff in order to create recruiting materials that are appealing, relevant, and cost effective.  Recommends improvements to current materials based on feedback and current recruitment success. 

7.         Handles confidential information including applicant data and student files. 

8.         Works closely with counterparts at the University of Detroit Mercy campus in coordinating recruiting activities between the two schools. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree preferred; and/or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have ability to manage short term and long term projects; ability to organize events, files, and processes; ability to create and implement a plan with minimal supervision or guidance; ability to work in a cross functional team; and ability to effectively work with and relate to a diverse population.
